#SKINCARE | REN Perfect Canvas Serum

REN is a brand I’ve only been familiar with for a short while, and although I see it most days where I work I never really had the urge to use it due to my stubborn thoughts that it is just like any other skincare brand. Sceptical Sarah for you. But after attending a training session all about REN skincare, the story behind it and a deeper look at the ingredients I decided I should really give it a go and quickly took back my stereotypical thoughts.
REN recently launched a new product called: The perfect canvas finishing serum, which I was lucky enough to get a whole bottle of my own from the training session to try. My first thoughts were how aesthetically pleasing the bottle was, it looks clean, it’s the right size for the hand and has an easy to use dropper applicator. To touch it feels super smooth, I feel like that’s just a taster of what it feels like on the skin!

Now, I had been using a few of REN’s other products hand in hand with using the Perfect Canvas and on some occasions, I just used the product on its own under my usual moisturiser. Not to say the other products don’t work (I will be doing a separate post on the other products I used) but I noticed that it looked just as good, maybe even better just using the perfect canvas with no other products than just a moisturiser that works for you. The saying goes, less is more, and here I think that’s the case. I think it’s quite a revelation that I may have found just ONE product that helps create the “perfect canvas”.

I have big pores, which to me is my biggest concern...it’s just the thing that bothers me. When I apply the serum, I feel like I genuinely shrinks my pores ^-^ I normally apply 2-3 drops on to my hands, then press it onto my face and neck, after I have moisturised and let it dry. As it is a serum it is a wonderful consistency, quite sticky to touch after you apply as it’s a primer, but I like the feeling of that zing of tightness. Once it dries my skin honestly feels instantly hydrated, glowy and oh-so smooth…the smoothness is insane. It is like that of a primer but 100x better!

On the occasions I wear makeup on top of the serum I feel my makeup sits so much better, like its more at one with my skin rather than it being a film. It does also tend to last a lot longer than if I wear it without, I tend to have trouble with bronzer staying on as I’m probably touching my face constantly throughout the day...but I have noticed without even thinking about it, that my bronzer is still in place after the days end.

As it is still very much a skincare product than just a primer, I believe it makes your skin not just look better but it makes it better.

Have you tried the Perfect Canvas?
